I think a great objective to have in terms of nutrition is trying a new food every week, as I’ve said before (Geez, broken record much Niki?).
I am always delighted to find pittahaya on the shelves of my local grocery store. If you haven’t heard of pittahaya, or cactus fruit, or dragon fruit, or strawberry pear, or nanettikafruit (you say tomato, I say tomatski…), then you haven’t heard of a delicious, refreshing and hydrating fruit. It is thought to improve digestion and decrease uric acid levels in the blood (therefore is great if you suffer from gout). Plus, this fruit is like a potassium mine, you’ll get lots of this nutrious element with every bite of this juicy fruit. Your experience eating pittahaya will likely be akin to that of eating a kiwi as the texture and taste are quite similar. Sooooo please give it a try! 🙂
